    If Quinn’s an enigma, then Alais Alleyn is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside a swathe of velvet. An accent that doesn’t match her claimed origins, a dress that doesn’t look at all local and a hefty accomplice ever-present at her elbow – yet she’s offering a stack of cash that Quinn could use in exchange for a job so simple it’s almost laughable.

    At least at first.
